Update on the New Temporary Visas for Parents of Australians

A press release from Minister Coleman has announced that the new Temporary Long Stay Parent Visa will become available in the first half of 2019. 

The Senate passed the Migration Amendment (Family Violence and Other Measures) Bill 2016 which includes provisions to introduce the new visa that will allow parents to visit their families in Australia for a continuous period of up to five years.

WA to implement Skilled Graduate occupation lists

The Western Australia Government has announced that it will be developing a new occupation list for Skilled graduates of WA universities.

High achieving education graduates - PhD, Masters, Honours and other higher degree graduates - will have a pathway to skilled migration, with priority consideration for State Nominated Migration. The introduction of this list is expected to also increase the number of international students choosing to study in WA.
