It can be recalled last April 20, Immigration Minister Peter Dutton announced the reforms the government is trying to impose in obtaining Australian citizenship. The proposed bill was an amendment to Australian Citizenship Act of 2007 that sparked many concerns not only for existing migrants but also for most political and labor groups. Labor and the Greens strongly opposed the bill while Nick Xenophon Team already advised that it will not support the bill in its current form.
